So, here is how I make my own seasoning recipe for chicken. First of all I will start mixing the following ingredients in a clean bowl.
A tablespoon of onion powder, this is perfect for that amazing aroma and taste it gives to your dish. next is a tablespoon of cayenne pepper, now that’s for the hot spicy kick note. Some people do not like to add pepper to their chicken, so you may skip it.
But before that, you may choose to give it a try and you will never want to skip cayenne pepper from chicken after a trial. After that, you want to add one tablespoon of oregano into the mix.
So, Oregano is very very good for aroma and flavor in your chicken. It gives it that earthy taste with lingering flavour and the back of your tongue.
Next, you want to about two tablespoons of smoked paprika. You can use the hot paprika or the sweet type. Personally, I love smoke paprika because it gives that amazing mild smoky note in the chicken.

After that, add two tablespoons of garlic powder into the bowl for the mild taste and aroma it gives. I believe you already know know the benefits and culinary uses of garlic.
Then add half tablespoon of black pepper or white pepper powder into the bowl. To me, there are no much different between white and black peppercorns, unless you want to compare it with piper guinness i.e uziza.
Next you want to add some salt to taste. Add turmeric and ginger powder then mix thoroughly so that everything will all be incorporated together. Now put some ground rosemary and thyme, you see this two herbs play a great role in chicken dishes.

How To Store Chicken Seasoning
Store it into a clean dry airtight container to avoid it absorbing moisture which is generally not good for the seasoning. So when you pour the chicken seasoning into the air tight jar, you can have it stored up to 5 months or more.
Good thing is that, you might even use it all up before the 5 months mark. So once the seasoning recipe for chicken is ready to be stored up, the last thing to do is to put a label on it.
On the label, you would want to put the name of the seasoning and the date you made it. For example, write seasoning recipe for chicken 17/08/2021 on it.

Chicken Seasoning Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of onion powder
- 2 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of oregano
- 2 tablespoon of smocked paprika
- 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of ginger powder
- 1/2 tablespoon of turmeric
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- Get a clean dry deep plate or a tall glass cup
- Then, put all the onion powder, garlic, oregano, cayenne pepper, black pepper, ginger, turmeric, paprika and salt into the plate
- After that, mix it with a spoon until all the ingredients is well combined
- Alternatively, you may want to put all the ingredients into a zip lock bag, then zip it up and shake it vigorously for about 1 minute. After that, turn the seasoning into a container for storage.
